Ahmypoop. Must not. Join. OM. But it's so easy to just try out, it's so easy to accept if I get in, it's so tempting- I really do love that family, I love the process, but I can't say I believe in the competition. To me it's a programme not a competition in itself, it's not about the winning, but we make it so- it's always about winning, about getting to worlds, always about how things will give us an advantage over other teams- this just doesn't seem like promoting creativity anymore. The creative aspect seems snuffed out; it just seems like an excuse for competing and winning. I don't understand this, I don't agree with this. I know that deep down all of us believe in the creativity, the OMers, the coaches, but the competitive flame in us is just too strong. We stare straight into that light and we get blinded by this and we forget the real spirit of OM- the teachers try to remind us, but even they themselves show the competitiveness- they ask us oh can this beat AC? How can it be something to really develop creativity if the competition overshadows everything else. I think ultimately that's why I don't really believe in OM, why I cannot completely commit to it.
