I realised, I just realised- we all have way more commitments than we think. Even things that we don't realise are commitments. It's not just academia, and CCA, and leadboards, and special programmes- even things like spending time with your friends and family, fangirling over HP (and various idols)- everything is in a way a commitment. But the reason why we don't think of them as commitments are that they make us happy, they don't weigh us down or pressurize us in any way (other than omg i need to find time to visit pottermore etc). Need to learn how to treat academics and cca and leadboards as less of a burden and more of enjoyment, a voluntary thing instead of a forced thing.
Also the future is closer than we think, and a lot of it is decided by the decisions we make now- subject combi, they affect our university majors and may decide our whole future (although of course there'll still be other paths open). Our grades, our LEAP points- they're all part of building up our resume for JC for college for work. The future comes one step at a time, sometimes so slowly that we don't even realise it, until it all comes crashing down on you- that's when it hits you, every little thing you've been doing
matters. Whether in your own future (materialistic or not), in that of others of the community of the society of the
world- we are all inextricably tied to this incredible fabric of mankind, and earth, and the solar system, and the universe. we are all part of this huge amazing thing going on, no matter how seemingly small and insignificant, and the universe would just be a little bit different without us. Every little choice we make. And that's a comforting thought, isn't it, just knowing that the world would be a little different every time we make a choice, knowing that what we do affects people, that
none of us are ever alone.
Even if it's just one stitch in the fabric of the world, it wouldn't be complete without
that stitch. We are all part of something immeasurably big.
