Striping yesterday was such an emotional affair- it is every year, but so much more so this year because we're the ones stepping up to lead. Seeing our new CLs get everyone to gather for the first time filled me with this urge to laugh, but at the same time I'm so proud of them, and how far our batch has come. I think we all are. I don't think we're the best batch, we definitely still can do so much more, be so much better, but I'm proud of how far we've come anyway. Rereading my striping posts from the past two years and I realise how much we've grown in this journey, excited for next year (: I know la, our batch is quite screwed and a surprisingly big number of us don't do anything, or don't really like guides, but as a whole I think we'll do great.
We're stepping up (': I don't know what else to say, but it's kind of daunting to be the batch in charge huh. I'm glad I'm sunflower PL and that I didn't transfer anywhere, this patrol has come to mean a lot to me (: I remember hoping in sec one that one day that I'd have a patrol of my own to lead and now I do and it's so cool haha. Somewhere in the middle of striping horseshoe yesterday after the second COY PLs returned to our positions I started grinning weirdly because it was such an amazing feeling knowing that after all this time being the irresponsible/slack batch we're stepping up. And while Jingyi was putting the stripes on me I just got so overwhelmed by emotion all of a sudden (and the urge to laugh, yap you suck) and I was just nodding awkwardly because I simply couldn't say anything.
So proud of our batch dance hahah (: if I was your boyfriend i'll never let you go! The whole of this year we've been seeing so many of our batch stepping up, going up there and doing things, becoming amazing leaders, more and more understanding the spirit of guides and I know we're gonna be amazing next year.
