It annoys me when people say that like or don't like something simply because it's mainstream. Is this what we've become, that we feel the need to fit in so much that we feel the need to be either "mainstream" or "hipster". I don't see why it's so wrong to like something that's mainstream (after all, there's got to be a reason why things are mainstream, yes? Even if you don't necessarily agree with it), just like I really don't understand why things can't be good if they're not mainstream. What's wrong with liking some mainstream things and being absolutely creepily weird in others? Why do we see the need to force ourselves to fit in that one little check mark box?
